Resource: Boost Your Interview I.Q. (Book)

Preparing for an interview this week, I happened to find a great book that I’ve had for a long time, “Boost Your Interview I.Q,” by Carole Martin, who was and may still be an Interview Coach at Monster.com

The book features typical and more in-depth interview questions that you may be asked which covers Frequently Asked, General, and Behavioural type questions. In addition, the book suggests answers to questions in three categories; strong, mediocre and weak.

Though some individuals consider receiving an invitation to an interview by constructing a killer resume the real work, the truth is, a great resume is only half of the battle – how you conduct yourself and how you handle interview questions can make or break a job offer.

Don’t wing-it; prepare for an interview by picking up a copy of this book and then practicing. I found this book helpful to not only make my answers more meaningful but, it gave me a crystal clear idea of the type of company that I want to work for.

Remember, the interview is not only a time for a potential employer to feel you out but, you need to also feel them out to ensure that the fit is just-right. A bad-fit is bad news for everyone involved and can hurt your career or make the time it takes to realize that it was a bad-fit a painful learning lesson.

Do you have a resource to share? Maybe a book, a website, a blog post or some well-earned advice from the trenches in your own job search or as a professional recruiter?
